One hundred years ago, a father-son duo with big start-up dreams worked out of their little garage to build Bay City Machine Company. Through hard work and great service, their success snowballed and led to a more permanent location and our eventual name change in 1923 to Paper Converting Machine Company. Since then, PCMC has grown into a premier global manufacturing company while staying true to our roots buried deep in Northeast Wisconsin soil.
In 2005, PCMC joined the larger Barry-Wehmiller organization, and we further realized our vision of providing full-service manufacturing equipment powered by a people-centric culture and sound business strategy. This creates a culture where people come first and are celebrated for their contributions. We’ve embraced Lean philosophies and challenge our teammates to find their own ways to build a better world through our business today that will last for years to come.
Our people-focused culture rests in measuring our success by the way we touch the lives of others, including our communities. Every year our team members organize dozens of events that embrace our culture of caring and creatively raise funds for causes near and dear to their hearts. Whether it’s Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, myTEAM TRIUMPH, St. Baldrick’s Foundation or the Disabled American Veterans Department of Wisconsin, we respond to the needs of our community and fellow team members in a thoughtful, deliberate and caring way.
We’ve arrived at this 100-year milestone through nothing less than commitment, hard work and sacrifice. We are proof that anything is possible – that manufacturing in a small town like Green Bay can compete in a big world for 100 years.
And while we’ve come a long way in that time, we know we’re just getting started!
