PLIP-37232.000 - Oscillating Blade System 

The PCMC patented OBS continually alters the rotational speed of the saw blades, minimizing the tendency for saw blade scalloping.  

90 Series

PLIP-38310.000 - Leaf Spring Idling Grinders

Increased production - Leaf spring idling grinders allow grinding of the blade while cutting, as opposed to the motorized power grinders, which could only grind in the dwell position at the top of the orbit motion. This upgrade can be applied to most 90 Series log saws. Leaf spring idling grinders are designed to replace the motorized power grinder design used on the early 90 Series log saws.

90 Series

PLIP-39347.000 - Timing Belt Drive

The timing belt eliminates the maintenance associated with the orbit head gear drive. The orbit head is driven in a continuous motion. Replacing the gear drive with a timing belt drive will lower the noise level of the saw. This upgrade can be applied to most 90 Series Log Saws. This upgrade requires leaf spring grinders to sharpen the blade on the fly (PLIP 38310). The timing belt drive eliminates the orbit head gear drive.  

90/150 Series

PLIP-37228.000 - Quick Change Insert Clamps

The Quick Change clamp inserts can be changed over in less than one hour. The lightweight plastic insert can be safely changed over by a single mechanic.
The cost of the Quick Change clamp insert conversion with two sets of inserts is 10% less than two sets of the existing steel single adjust design. Reduced downtimes will further decrease costs.  

150 Series

PLIP-38095.000 - Leaf Spring Idling Grinders

Increased production - Leaf spring idling grinders allow grinding of the blade while cutting as opposed to the motorized power grinders which could only grind in the dwell position at the top of the orbit motion. This upgrade can be applied to most 150 Series Log Saws. Leaf spring idling grinders are designed to replace the motorized power grinder design used on the early 150 Series log saws.  

150 Series

PLIP-38292.000 - LS-520 Saw Head Conversion

On a typical series 150 Series log saw, the saw blade would stop at the top of its orbit path to allow the flight conveyor to index and to allow blade grinding to take place. The LS-520 cutoff head conversion has a continuously driven orbit head and an indexing flight conveyor. Idling plunge type grinders are mounted on the orbit head allowing for grinding any time during the blade orbit. LS-520 Saw Head Conversion - 150 Series. The LS520 conversion package includes the main frame structure, cutoff head assembly, blade grinding assembly, timing belt drive, flight indexing box and all necessary components to adapt this conversion to your existing saw. The main frame structure of this conversion is larger than the existing structure; therefore, it will be necessary to modify the cage around the saw. PCMC will provide an alteration drawing for the cage. The customer is responsible for making the cage alterations. This upgrade can be applied to most 150 Series log saws.  

150 Series

PLIP-39311.000 - Timing Belt Drive

The timing belt drive eliminates the maintenance associated with the commercial cam unit and gear drive. The orbit head is driven in a continuous motion. Replacing the gear drives with timing belt will lower the noise level of the saw. This upgrade can be applied to most 150 Series log saws. The timing belt drive eliminates the orbit head commercial cam unit and associated gear drive. This upgrade requires leaf spring grinders to sharpen the blade on the fly. (PLIP 38095.000 - Leaf Spring Idling Grinders)  

300 Series

PLIP-37696.000 - Stationary Clamp Conveyor

Eliminates the maintenance associated with the upper and lower chain assemblies and the damage done to the cam over clamps because of timing problems. Single adjust handwheel provides easy adjustments for diameter changes within plus or minus 0.1875" of nominal diameter.  

300 Series

PLIP-38547.000 - Shuttle Trim Eliminator

Supports the cut rolls from the end of the saw conveyor to the conveying system, which feeds the packaging equipment, while eliminating the trim pieces. 2 lane to 2 lane shuttle trim eliminator. Ability to cull rolls or logs within certain restrictions. Reduced maintenance. This upgrade can be applied to most 300 series saw with stationary clamps or full diameter range clamps. Replaces the finger type trim elimination system.  

300 Series

PLIP-39313.000 - Timing Belt Drive

Both spline shaft and special reducer are costly items that can wear out often in certain situations. This upgrade can be applied to most 300 series log saws. The timing belt drive to the orbit head replaces the spline shaft and special reducer drive on early 300 Series log saws.  

300 Series

PLIP-39645.000 - Easy Change Clamps

Single handwheel adjustable log clamps with easy change clamps. The design incorporates a removable clamp section for, quick product diameter change. This upgrade can be applied to most 300 Series log saws. The easy change clamps are intended to replace the older style clamps on the 300 Series log saws.  

300 Series (2 Lane)

PLIP-51763.000 - Full Diameter Range Log Clamps

Full Diameter Range Log Clamps are infinitely adjustable through entire log diameter range.  The adjustment for the Full Diameter Range Log Clamps comes standard with a counter to easily return to a previous log diameter setting. This upgrade can be applied to most 2 lane 300 Series towel saws with manually adjustable stationary log clamps.  Replaces existing Single Diameter or Partial Range Diameter Log Clamp assemblies.  

300 Series (2 Lane) 

PLIP-88520.000 - FDR Stationary Clamps, Servo Driven Conveyor, and Shuttle Trim

The stationary clamp conveyor is designed to replace the upper and lower clamp conveyor design or cam over clamp design used on the early 300 Series log saws.  Full diameter range log clamps are indefinitely adjustable through entire log diameter range.  The adjustment for the full diameter range log clamps comes standard with a counter to easily return to a previous log diameter setting.  This upgrade can be fitted on 2 lane 300 Series saws with upper and lower chains or cam over clamp conveyors.  

LS-520 (2 Lane)

PLIP-53401.000 - Full Diameter Range Log Clamps

Full Diameter Range Log Clamps are infinitely adjustable through entire log diameter range. Log diameter changes are accomplished by means of rotating a single handwheel. Separate adjustments for clamps upstream and downstream of the blade path, and adjustments to the hold down shoes have been combined into one easy adjustment. The adjustment for the Full Diameter Range Log Clamps comes standard with a counter to easily return to a previous log diameter setting. This upgrade can be applied to most 2 lane LS-520 saw with manually adjustable stationary log clamps and a lane spacing of 7.00 (178 mm).  

Prolog

PLIP-89570.000 - Grinder Shaft Upgrade

New coupling design provides more surface area to drive the stone drive shaft. This upgrade can be fitted to Prolog Saws with fixed or floating style grinders. 

Prolog (2 Lane)

PLIP-38548.000 - Shuttle Trim Eliminator

Supports the cut rolls from the end of the saw conveyor to the conveying system, which feeds the packaging equipment, while eliminating the trim pieces. 2 lane to 2 lane shuttle trim eliminator. Dual shuttle assemblies move support troughs beneath the rolls. Shuttle assemblies move on linear ball bearings. Trim pieces fall through an opening between shuttle assemblies. Shuttle speed and position controlled by servomotors connected to saw PLC. Each lane on the leading and trailing shuttle equipped with an overhead gripper finger which prevents the first and last roll of a log from falling through with the trim. No marking of the product. No lifting of the tailseal. No mechanical adjustments required to accommodate varied log lengths or number of cut rolls. Optional: Ability to cull rolls or logs within certain restrictions (contact PCMC Customer Service Sales for more information). This upgrade can be fitted to most 2 lane Prolog saws with stationary lamps, or full diameter range clamps. Replaces the vacuum trim elimination system.

PLIP-44755.000 - Shuttle Trim Eliminator

Supports the cut rolls from the end of the saw conveyor to the conveying system, which feeds the packaging equipment, while eliminating the trim pieces. 3 lane to 3 lane shuttle trim eliminator. Dual shuttle assemblies move support troughs beneath the rolls. Shuttle assemblies move on linear ball bearings. Trim pieces fall through an opening between shuttle assemblies. Shuttle speed and position controlled by servomotors connected to saw PLC. Each lane on the leading and trailing shuttle equipped with an overhead gripper finger which prevents the first and last roll of a log from falling through with the trim. No marking of the product. No lifting of the tailseal. No mechanical adjustments required to accommodate varied log lengths or number of cut rolls. Optional: Ability to cull rolls or logs within certain restrictions (contact PCMC Customer Service Sales for more information). This upgrade can be fitted to any 3 lane Prolog saw with stationary clamps, or full diameter range clamps. Log diameter range: 3.50" (89 mm) to 6.50" (165 mm). Full Diameter Range Log Clamps are infinitely adjustable through entire log diameter range. Log diameter changes are accomplished by means of rotating a single handwheel. Separate adjustments for clamps upstream and downstream of the blade path, and adjustments to the hold down shoes have been combined into one easy adjustment. The adjustment for the Full Diameter Range Log Clamps comes standard with a counter to easily return to previous log diameter setting. This upgrade can be applied to most 3 lane Prolog saws with manually adjustable stationary log clamps.  

Prolog (4 Lane)

Full Diameter Range Log Clamps are infinitely adjustable through entire log diameter range. Log diameter changes are accomplished by means of rotating a single handwheel.
